Looking Back on a Whimsical Pastel Wedding in the Vineyards

Photos by Ana Nunez

We are looking back on one of our favorite summer weddings where color, whimsy, and romance came together beautifully. Jessica and Landon’s celebration at Sassafras Springs Winery and Vineyard shows how brides are embracing soft, playful palettes to create joyful and memorable weddings. While traditional white weddings remain timeless, revisiting this day reminds us just how magical a pastel floral design can feel.

A Bouquet Full of Summer Whimsy

For Jessica’s bridal bouquet, we combined White O’Hara Garden Roses, lavender roses, pink larkspur, buttercream lisianthus, and light blue delphinium. To add a wildflower, whimsical touch, we layered in limonium, wax flower, and scabiosa. The result was a bouquet that felt effortless yet carefully curated, reflecting the carefree elegance of a summer garden party.

The groom’s floral pocket square echoed the bouquet with smaller blooms and provided a modern, playful twist on the traditional boutonniere. Bridesmaids carried bouquets in whites and creams including tulips, ranunculus, roses, and stock. These coordinated beautifully with their varied pastel dresses. Using monochromatic bouquets is a perfect way to unite bridesmaids wearing different styles while keeping the overall look cohesive.

Ceremony Arrangements That Left an Impression

Two full arrangements adorned the altar on white columns. They blended pink spray roses, lavender standard roses, and White O’Hara garden roses with white stock, pink larkspur, light blue delphinium, and raspberry scabiosa. Dollar eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus added lush texture and movement. After the ceremony, these arrangements were relocated to the reception entryway to carry the beauty and energy of the ceremony into the next chapter of the day.

Playful and Elegant Reception Design

For the reception, we designed two types of centerpieces. The first featured individual bud vases with pops of pastel blooms, adding a delicate and joyful touch to each table. The second included loose greenery surrounding three tall floating candles, creating a relaxed yet refined ambiance. Together, these centerpieces perfectly captured the soft, whimsical, and celebratory vibe Jessica envisioned for her summer wedding.

Looking back on this wedding, it is easy to see why pastel florals continue to enchant brides and their guests. They bring color, personality, and a sense of magic to every moment. Revisiting this wedding is a reminder that past celebrations can inspire new ideas and enduring floral trends.
