Ravishing Reds Wedding at Sassafras Springs Winery

Red is arguably the 2nd most classic wedding color, with white (of course) taking the top spot. In the over 25 years I’ve been designing, I’ve loved seeing how red has evolved as a palette. For Max and Audrey’s, Fall nuptials at Sassafras Springs Winery, we created a gorgeous, modern take on red with shades of burgundy, purple, and pink. You might be thinking—those colors aren’t red? Well, technically they’re not, but they’re all in the (red) family!

For Audrey’s bouquet, we used gorgeous red Hearts Garden Roses, mauve stock, blush ranunculus, pink lisianthus, and wine scabiosa. The combination of colors and textures created the romance Audrey was looking for! To complete the couple, the groom’s bout featured a blush spray rose bloom and an accent of mauve stock. The bridesmaids carried complementary bouquets and the groomsmen wore complementary bouts—everything looked gorgeous with the different red shades of the maids’ dresses.

For the ceremony, we designed a beautiful red and blush arrangement to accent the welcome sign. For the aisle centerpiece we trailed a thick and lush eucalyptus garland along the glass table on Sassafras’ veranda. Accenting rose blooms were tucked in to add some extra prettiness.

For the reception, we designed pieces on-site to complement the elegant pillar candles at each table. Italian Ruscus, dollar eucalyptus, and blush and red roses encircled each candle. Once lit, the atmosphere was romantic as can be.
